Marian Rivera admitted that she was offended by Karylle’s “controversial smile” regarding the pregnancy issue invoked by Boy Abunda on the Buzz last Sunday.

As the newest Kapuso to go ober-da-bakod, Karylle occupied the hot seat on the Buzz' “Tough Ten” segment where she answered the 10 tough questions that Boy Abunda thrown at her. Karylle answered 9 questions, 8 of which were all about Dingdong, Marian or both.

The no. 1 tough question goes: “Buntis ba si Marian Rivera?” Karylle did not answer anything but a figurative “smile.” Boy Abunda read between the lines and responded, “Salamat sa pagtitiwala.

This afternoon, when the grand press conference of the MMFF movie “Desperadas 2″ was held at the Imperial Palace Suites, Marian was asked by the press if she’s indeed pregnant. At first, Marian jokingly answered “Pwede bang smile na lang din ang isagot ko?” Afterwards, the reigning primetime queen answered the question straight on, “Hindi po ako buntis.

Inaamin ko, na-hurt ako,” she added while she broke into tears.

Then Marian hits back at Karylle without mentioning her name.

The question and answer was immediately discontinued. The reporters mobbed Marian afterwards.

Karylle’s "controversial smile" on Boy Abunda’s question regarding Marian Rivera’s alleged pregnancy ignited a bomb that is about to explode.

After her grandest welcome party at ASAP, Karylle occupied the hot seat of The Buzz for the segment “Tough 10 Questions.” She breezed through the first 9 questions of Boy Abunda until she heard the last and most difficult one which was:

I know you have nothing to do with this pero sabi ko nga kasama ka sa kwentong ito, sa iyong pagkakaalam, Karylle, buntis ba si Marian Rivera?

Karylle did not reply, kept silent and just smilingly stared back at Boy Abunda.

Prior to her transfer to ABS-CBN, Karylle broke up with her boyfriend of three years - Dingdong Dantes. Since Dingdong is paired with Marian Rivera, rumors abounded that the Primetime Queen is the cause of their break-up.

Karylle, however, denied the rumors and said that only her and Dingdong know the real reason of the break-up.

I mean we can explain and explain but it will never be fully sufficient. And I think even to this day, we don’t understand why we broke up. So, parang how can you even explain it to other person?” she said.

Cutting Edge Productions will showcase Pinoy animation in the 2008 Metro Manila Film Fest entry "Dayo".

The creative team of "Dayo" consulted published literature on local mythology. The main reference is the book Creatures of Philippine Lower Mythology by Maximo Ramos.

"Dayo" aims to reintroduce the other side of mythical creatures like the tikbalang, kapre, manananggal, and aswang by giving a new dimension to these usual reviled creatures. "T
hey are normally presented as predators or portrayed as villains," explains director Robert Quilao. "We created a new twist to these characters by transforming the scary manananggal into the friendly manananggol (defender) who acts as the guardian of Elementalia."

"Dayo" is a hybrid product of combining 2D and 3D animation, powered by Toon Boom using Macintosh and Linux platforms. 2D animation is used for the characters while 3D animation is used for the backgrounds especially for the big scenes.

Synopsis: "Dayo" is a heartwarming story of overcoming one's fear and triumphing over adversity. It centers on the 11-year-old Bubuy (voiced by Nash Aguas) who is out to save his abducted grandparents in the land of Elementalia, a magical and mystical world that houses many of the Philippines' mythical creatures and other enchanted elements. Along the way, Bubuy meets Anna Manananggirl (voiced by Katrina Legaspi), a teen manananggal (a winged creature that can separate her torso from her lower body) who befriends and helps Bubuy in his quest to rescue his grandparents.

The title has been changed to "Escalera and Ungasis: 20 Years After," which will chronicle the events that transpired in the two decades since the TV series, when the Escalera brothers and Ungasis graduated from Wanbol University.

Mely Tagasa agreed to reprise her role as Miss Tapia and so did Anthony Roquel as Tonette Macho.

The role of Mang Temy however may be retired as a tribute to cast member Bing Angeles
who passed away in 2001.

The movie's title was changed again to "Iskul Bukol: 20 Years After" in order to gain strong audience recall, owing its large fanbase of people who grew up in the '70s and '80s watching the TV show.

Main Characters:

Tito Escalera (Tito Sotto) - One half of the Escalera brothers, who plots harebrained schemes in every episode.

Joey Escalera (Joey De Leon) - The other Escalera sibling. Miss Tapia has a crush on him.

Miss Tapia (Mely Tagasa) - Wanbol University's resident professor who often gets on the Escalera brothers' nerves.

Mang Temi (Bing Angeles) - the dark-complexioned operator of the university's cafeteria. His name is a play on the Filipino word "itim" (black or dark), rearranged the 70's Filipino way, "Tim-i" or "Tem-i," in the same manner as words in the vernacular are rearranged. Example: bath = ligo = go-li.

Tonette Macho (Anthony Roquel) - the gay student who plays as bestfriend of the fairest girl in class. He is also the nemesis of the Escalera Brothers.

Inang (Dely Atay-Atayan) - Vic's mother from the town of Tiaong, Quezon. Famous for her term of endearment "Bunsooyy!" whenever addressing Vic. The root word "bunso" is Tagalog for youngest child.

Iskul Bukol: 20 Year After is an official entry to the 2008 Metro Manila Film Festival and is showing on December 25, 2008.

Baler is the upcoming official entry of Viva Films in the upcoming 2008 Metro Manila Film Festival. The movie features the first team-up of Jericho Rosales and Anne Curtis.

Synopsis: Baler is a tale of an overwhelming love of a young Filipina named Feliza Reyes (Anne Curtis) and Celso Resurrecion (Jericho Rosales), a Spanish-Filipino soldier, set in the backdrop of 1898 wartime action between a 57-man Rifle Batallion of the Spanish military and the Filipino forces, more popularly known as the Seige of Baler.

Feliza is the beautiful daughter of Nanding (Phillip Salvador), who’s a member of therebel movement. This is the very reason why she and Celso have to keep their love a secret.

Nanding, whose primary goal is to completely wipe out the Spanish soldiers stationed in the town of Baler, can never accept Celso, a half- Indio, half Spanish soldier who chooses to serve the enemies more than the Filipino insurgents who are struggling and fighting for their independence, their freedom.

Feliza is in love with the man her father despises but who and what could stop the two young people who are madly in love with each other?

While we are drawn to the endearing story of a classic love that knows no time, place and race, we are also glided into the historic past to take a peek on what transpired inside the walls of the church of Baler where the last Spanish contingent (who are not aware that the war had actually ended), heroically defended Baler against the Filipino forces for 337 long and grueling days.

While Baler is a story of conflict, betrayal, suffering, self-preservation, selfishness, obstinacy, and self-interest, it is also a story of heroism, courage, love of freedom, patriotism, endurance, chivalry, humanity and above all, it also tells about a noble story of love in time of war--- the story of Feliza and Celso.

The movie also stars Phillip Salvador, Baron Geisler, Bernard Palanca, Carlo Aquino, Niki Bacolod, DJ Durano, Joel Torre, Mark Bautista, Michael de Mesa, and Ryan Eigenmann.

Baler is showing on Christmas day.

Actor Jericho Rosales is very happy that the Metro Manila Film Fest (MMFF) committee is giving him a chance to work with KC Concepcion in the revival of the musical Katy. There is really no stopping Marian Rivera.

After showing her dancing skills on Marimar and swimming her way to the top on Dysebel. Will Marian finally decided to bare flesh this time? I hope she does.

Before she even covers FHM, Uno, Maxim, or Playboy magazine, Ginebra San Miguel is lucky enough to have Marian as their calendar girl for 2009.

The said calendar will be available in selected Metro Manila stores starting December of this year.

Former Ginebra calendar girls are Iwa Moto, Angelica Panganiban, Maureen Larrazabal, Belinda Bright, Maricar de Mesa, Aubrey Miles, Rica Peralejo, Geneva Cruz and Patricia Javier.

Is this the same product endorsement which is said to be the cause of Marian's break-up with her 7-year boyfriend Ervic Vijandre?

Right after Dingdong Dantes and Karylle admitted in public that they finally put an end to their relationship and that Marian Rivera is not the reason for their break-up, rumors about Marian being the third party and the reason for the break-up still persist.

In an official statement sent by Marian's camp to Showbiz Central last Sunday, November 9, Marian said that she is hurt by the accusation but still insist that she has nothing to do with the break-up.

Here is Marian's official statement:

Puwede kayong mag-fail o puwede kayong mag-stick together lalo. Nasa inyo na po ‘yon, di ba?

"
Kung tunay at wagas ang pagtititnginan ninyo sa isa't isa, at you can stand the test of time, hindi kayo maghihiwalay. Pagsubok kasi ‘yan.

"Maraming salamat."

The news about former actress Criselda Volks sex video scandal is the talk of the town in different talk shows and on the internet. Although Criselda admitted on The Buzz that she is the girl on the four-part video, she said that it's a personal video and should not leaked the internet.

Kami ang magkasama so automatically siyempre nagvi-video-han kami. So, it was supposed to be a video na hindi kumalat. It’s a personal video,” she said while crying.

She also believes that her former boyfriend was not behind the proliferation of the video.

I don’t regret making the video because it was supposed to be a personal file, personal namin ‘yon. Nakita ko ‘yong video sa phone at that time.

According to the article written by Rommel Llanes, "Apat ang sex videos, at sa apat na yun, pawang may close-up shots pa ang babaeng nasa video. May mga closeup shots din ang lalaking ka-sex ng babae sa video, bagama't bahagyang kita lamang ang mukha nito sa mga kuha dahil nasa akto ng pakikipag-sex."

Amidst the issue that real-life sweethearts Dingdong Dantes and Karylle have broken up because of Marian Rivera, the three have yet to speak to confirm what the real score is. Dingdong and Karylle continue to deny that they have decided to separate ways, with the actor even clarifying that Marian has nothing to do with the issue. News reports say that Marian and constant leading man Dingdong have developed feelings towards each other and the actress' recent breakup with her non-showbiz boyfriend has given way for the two celebrities to pursue their alleged romance.

Meanwhile, on the Points, Opinions and Violent Reactions (POV) segment of The Buzz last Sunday, November 2, the three hosts Boy Abunda, Kris Aquino and Ruffa Gutierrez all shared bits of information in an effort to solve the puzzle. Ruffa went on to say that staff members from her previous film, Desperadas, who are now also the staff of Dingdong and Marian's upcoming movie said that the two are very close on the set. "Sila (staff) ang nagkukuwento na super-sweet daw ang dalawa kahit na walang press," Ruffa revealed.

Kris on the other hand shared that her friend Popoy Caritativo, who is also Marian's manager, told her that the actress and Dingdong aren’t a couple yet. "Hindi sila ni Dingdong pa," Kris quoted Popoy. Popoy also told Kris that Marian is currently happy now, to which Ruffa interjected, "'Yung staff ng Desperadas said, si Marian daw has never been happier in her life." However Kris emphasized there’s nothing wrong with being happy but not at the cost of someone getting hurt. Kris also said that Marian has indeed broken up with her boyfriend because of a commercial deal he did not approve of.

Boy on his part said there shouldn’t be any difficulty for Karylle and Dingdong to say if the relationship has ended and it would definitely simplify their problems. Boy also added another juicy tidbit to the topic by saying he has talked to Marian's ex-boyfriend and he was told that there is no truth in rumors saying that he made Marian chose between him and the project.

The three hosts end the topic by saying that hopefully the issue between the couple and Marian be cleared up soon. Kris even added that she’ll ask Popoy if The Buzz can interview Marian to get her side on the controversy.

Unidentified men broke into the house of Wowowee host Willie Revillame at 516 Cameron Street in Corinthian Hills subdivision, Barangay Ugong Norte in Quezon City reportedly taking with them 3 million worth of watches and jewelry.

Investigators said the crime may have been committed between past midnight of November 1 and 6AM of November 3. Revillame was away during the weekend and only discovered the incident past 3AM Monday.

Right after the news came out about the alledgedly near-fight between Kapuso stars Richard Gutierrez and Aljur Abrenica at the Fiamma bar last October 17, Richard's camp sent PEP a statement disproving the report.

Richard does not deny that there was some hostility between him and Aljur. In fact, he admits telling Aljur to "leave the table," although Richard says he did this "politely."

Richard denies, however, that he hit Aljur, even if he says he found Aljur distinctly lacking in "social graces." Richard alleges that Aljur "barged in" on him and his friends, sat down, and drank with them when he was clearly "uninvited."

The following is the complete official statement of Richard Gutierrez sent to PEP through a text message:

"Time management is what stars whose schedules are busy need to master, for it is during these moments of privacy that a star can unwind, relax, and de-stress.

"Unfortunately, however, a star like Mr. Aljur Abrenica, an acquaintance, does not seem to understand that stars need space too, and barging in on our table unexpectedly, sitting down uninvited, and partaking of the drinks freely, does not speak well of a person's social graces.

"I politely asked him, after a decent time, to leave. That was what the incident was all about.

"Ms. Jewel Mische, if I may correct the PEP report, was not at the Fiamma bar at all. And alas, neither was Ms. Mische the cause of the INVENTED rift."

In time for the Halloween season, the Kapamilya Network will air a TV special that aims to send chills through out audience viewers. Thrillecine, which marks ABS-CBN's first foray into the thriller-suspense genre, will be aired this Sunday, November 2, on Sunday's Best.

This TV event will feature two thriller-suspense movies-made-for-TV: "Sikreto ni Secret Admirer," which stars Roxanne Guinoo, and Zanjoe Marudo, and "Karera sa Promotion," which has Gerald Anderson, Maui Taylor and Bembol Roco in the lead roles.

"Ang Sikreto ni Secret Admirer" tells the story of Tikboy (Zanjoe), an ugly, shy, but kind-hearted mailman who is in love with the beautiful Helen (Roxanne), who is nursing a broken heart. Because of his undesirable appearance, he decided just to stalk Helen. He then finds Helen falling in love with a secret admirer-letter sender. Tikboy then decided to assume this person's identity, who will not let his lady love fall for Tikboy because of his love letters. How will Tikboy stand up for his lies? How far will he go to protect the lies he has given?

"Karera sa Promotion," meanwhile, follows the journey of Perez (Gerald), an honest cop who believes that getting a promotion will help him influence fellow cops to lead moral, honest lives. He then gave his all in finding the mysteries behind a series of murder incidents, but will the haunting truth leave him unscarred? Will he survive this scary ordeal?

Thrillecine, directed by young, talented director Ato Bautista and written by Shugo Praico, fuses sensuality and dark humor with the suspense-thriller genre.

Be sure to catch the pilot of Thrillecine this Sunday, November 2, on Sunday's Best.

One of today's featured stories in Pilipino Star Ngayon's Showbiz column, is about the two young actors who allegedly involved in a near-fight incident in one of Makati bars, which says:

.
]

This article was also featured in today's PEP's hot stories. But this time, writer Erwin Santiago courageously put names behind the two young actors and the girl who said to be the cause of this near-fight incident. Reason PEP's full stories below:

[A customer of Fiamma Bar on Jupiter Street in Makati City told PEP that a confrontation occurred between Kapuso stars Richard Gutierrez and Aljur Abrenica last October 17, at the high-end watering hole.

This was supposed to have happened on the same night that the new GMA Network Studios on Jamboree St., Quezon City, was inaugurated. Many of the stars, still dressed to the nines, had gone out to celebrate after the event.

Richard is known as GMA-7's Primetime King, while Aljur is StarStruck Batch 4 Ultimate Hunk winner. In other words, Richard is a certified big star and Aljur is a promising male lead.

The non-showbiz customer, who refuses to be named, reported that he saw Richard Gutierrez having a nice time with friends.

Sometime later, the customer saw Aljur Abrenica enter the bar escorting young actress Jewel Mische, the StarStruck Batch 4 Ultimate Sweetheart and also a GMA-7 talent.

The next thing he saw, according to the stunned customer, was Richard having an altercation with Aljur. He said he distinctly saw Richard giving Aljur's head a short, quick slap. In the words of the customer, "Tinapik ni Richard si Aljur sa ulo!"

Aljur reportedly turned around, faced Richard, and demanded to know, "Ano ang problema mo?" Richard reportedly shot back, "Ikaw, ano ang problema mo?"

The PEP source said that, fortunately, nothing more untoward happened. Cooler heads reportedly intervened at just the right time.

Another source, who was also at Fiamma bar, claimed that Jewel was not with Aljur. The source, however, corroborated the story about the tiff between Richard and Aljur.

PEP asked all three parties, on separate occasions, to comment on the incident. Clearly, everyone wanted the incident buried and forgotten.

When Aljur was asked, he refused to answer. Jewel refused to take calls on her cellphone (its number is known to her reporter-friends). Richard, at his mother Annabelle Rama's birthday party last Saturday evening, said, "No comment," then walked away.

Meantime, a handler at the GMA Artist Center, which manages Aljur and Jewel, gave the side of Aljur but refused to be quoted. Two showbiz reporters who heard about the incident also backed off the story. As a result, PEP became more curious: where did the Richard-Aljur tiff come from?

Our research showed that Jewel Mische is at the center of this tiff. Since the days of Kamandag—a fantaserye which had Richard and Jewel as a love team—rumors had already circulated that the two became more than an onscreen team. According to reports, they had become a quiet, but real, item.

Both Richard and Jewel have totally denied the story. Even at the recent inauguration of GMA Network Studios, Jewel flatly said, "For the record, hindi naging kami ni Chard." Richard, for his part, has remained non-committal and vague, but admitted going out with Jewel. The young actor also said that Jewel was the "closest" girl to him while they were still doing Kamandag.

But making the story plausible were reports that kept linking Richard only to Jewel, when the handsome 24-year-old star also had the beautiful Maxene Magalona as a romantic interest in the same fantaserye. And way after Kamandag was taken off the air, talk persisted that Richard and Jewel were seeing each other romantically.

Richard has never been an easy man to pin down on his romantic intentions. There were two other stars who started being linked to him: Heart Evangelista and KC Concepcion. These two are such big names—Heart starred with him in the big-budget GMA-7 action-adventures series Codename: Asero, and KC was his leading lady in the blockbuster Star Cinema movie For the First Time—that the press eventually paid no more attention to the Richard-Jewel romance rumors.

Showbiz insiders now say that, in fact, the Richard-Jewel romance has been an on-and-off story in Richard's life. They add that, indeed, the two were first attracted to each other when they were doing Kamandag, which brought them together at least three times a week, and that since then, Jewel would be seen in places where Richard was, such as his condo, his tapings, his movie sets.

Unfortunately, the insiders say, nobody seems to want Jewel for Richard. Their network is said to be pushing other leading ladies for their prize talent; his family has not been heard to say they want her for Richard, whereas his mother and manager Annabelle Rama has been quoted as saying she liked KC; and even members of Richard's camp say that the tandem won't go far with the fans.

The rumors persist anyway that Jewel is more infatuated with Richard than he is with her. But showbiz veterans argue that if Richard really wanted Jewel out of his life, then he could have done so a long time ago. After all, he has his family, his manager, bodyguard, driver, and camp followers to create the environment he is comfortable with. Therefore, these showbiz veterans speculate, Richard must also be attracted to Jewel to make this "on-and-off relationship" last up to this time.

As for the Fiamma bar incident between Richard and Aljur, there is strong buzz that it was triggered when Jewel asked Aljur to escort her that night, and had done so with the idea of making Richard jealous. The buzz also says that Aljur, in this scenario, was completely clueless
