Marian Rivera admitted that she was offended by Karylle’s “controversial smile” regarding the pregnancy issue invoked by Boy Abunda on the Buzz last Sunday.

As the newest Kapuso to go ober-da-bakod, Karylle occupied the hot seat on the Buzz' “Tough Ten” segment where she answered the 10 tough questions that Boy Abunda thrown at her. Karylle answered 9 questions, 8 of which were all about Dingdong, Marian or both.

The no. 1 tough question goes: “Buntis ba si Marian Rivera?” Karylle did not answer anything but a figurative “smile.” Boy Abunda read between the lines and responded, “Salamat sa pagtitiwala.

This afternoon, when the grand press conference of the MMFF movie “Desperadas 2″ was held at the Imperial Palace Suites, Marian was asked by the press if she’s indeed pregnant. At first, Marian jokingly answered “Pwede bang smile na lang din ang isagot ko?” Afterwards, the reigning primetime queen answered the question straight on, “Hindi po ako buntis.

Inaamin ko, na-hurt ako,” she added while she broke into tears.

Then Marian hits back at Karylle without mentioning her name.

The question and answer was immediately discontinued. The reporters mobbed Marian afterwards.

Karylle’s "controversial smile" on Boy Abunda’s question regarding Marian Rivera’s alleged pregnancy ignited a bomb that is about to explode.

After her grandest welcome party at ASAP, Karylle occupied the hot seat of The Buzz for the segment “Tough 10 Questions.” She breezed through the first 9 questions of Boy Abunda until she heard the last and most difficult one which was:

I know you have nothing to do with this pero sabi ko nga kasama ka sa kwentong ito, sa iyong pagkakaalam, Karylle, buntis ba si Marian Rivera?

Karylle did not reply, kept silent and just smilingly stared back at Boy Abunda.

Prior to her transfer to ABS-CBN, Karylle broke up with her boyfriend of three years - Dingdong Dantes. Since Dingdong is paired with Marian Rivera, rumors abounded that the Primetime Queen is the cause of their break-up.

Karylle, however, denied the rumors and said that only her and Dingdong know the real reason of the break-up.

I mean we can explain and explain but it will never be fully sufficient. And I think even to this day, we don’t understand why we broke up. So, parang how can you even explain it to other person?” she said.

Cutting Edge Productions will showcase Pinoy animation in the 2008 Metro Manila Film Fest entry "Dayo".

The creative team of "Dayo" consulted published literature on local mythology. The main reference is the book Creatures of Philippine Lower Mythology by Maximo Ramos.

"Dayo" aims to reintroduce the other side of mythical creatures like the tikbalang, kapre, manananggal, and aswang by giving a new dimension to these usual reviled creatures. "T
hey are normally presented as predators or portrayed as villains," explains director Robert Quilao. "We created a new twist to these characters by transforming the scary manananggal into the friendly manananggol (defender) who acts as the guardian of Elementalia."

"Dayo" is a hybrid product of combining 2D and 3D animation, powered by Toon Boom using Macintosh and Linux platforms. 2D animation is used for the characters while 3D animation is used for the backgrounds especially for the big scenes.

Synopsis: "Dayo" is a heartwarming story of overcoming one's fear and triumphing over adversity. It centers on the 11-year-old Bubuy (voiced by Nash Aguas) who is out to save his abducted grandparents in the land of Elementalia, a magical and mystical world that houses many of the Philippines' mythical creatures and other enchanted elements. Along the way, Bubuy meets Anna Manananggirl (voiced by Katrina Legaspi), a teen manananggal (a winged creature that can separate her torso from her lower body) who befriends and helps Bubuy in his quest to rescue his grandparents.

Starring: Johnny Delgado, Katrina Michelle Legaspi, Laurice Guillen, Michael V., Nash Aguas, Noel Trinidad, Nova Villa, Pokwang .

The title has been changed to "Escalera and Ungasis: 20 Years After," which will chronicle the events that transpired in the two decades since the TV series, when the Escalera brothers and Ungasis graduated from Wanbol University.

Mely Tagasa agreed to reprise her role as Miss Tapia and so did Anthony Roquel as Tonette Macho.

The role of Mang Temy however may be retired as a tribute to cast member Bing Angeles
who passed away in 2001.

The movie's title was changed again to "Iskul Bukol: 20 Years After" in order to gain strong audience recall, owing its large fanbase of people who grew up in the '70s and '80s watching the TV show.

Main Characters:

Tito Escalera (Tito Sotto) - One half of the Escalera brothers, who plots harebrained schemes in every episode.

Joey Escalera (Joey De Leon) - The other Escalera sibling. Miss Tapia has a crush on him.

Vic Ungasis (Vic Sotto) - the good-looking and smart teacher's pet with a chick-magnet personality. The Escaleras often pick on him during class.

Miss Tapia (Mely Tagasa) - Wanbol University's resident professor who often gets on the Escalera brothers' nerves.

Mang Temi (Bing Angeles) - the dark-complexioned operator of the university's cafeteria. His name is a play on the Filipino word "itim" (black or dark), rearranged the 70's Filipino way, "Tim-i" or "Tem-i," in the same manner as words in the vernacular are rearranged. Example: bath = ligo = go-li.

Tonette Macho (Anthony Roquel) - the gay student who plays as bestfriend of the fairest girl in class. He is also the nemesis of the Escalera Brothers.

Inang (Dely Atay-Atayan) - Vic's mother from the town of Tiaong, Quezon. Famous for her term of endearment "Bunsooyy!" whenever addressing Vic. The root word "bunso" is Tagalog for youngest child.

Joey Anson (Joey Albert) - a student whom Vic likes.

Redford White (Redford) - Mang Temi's houseboy

Iskul Bukol: 20 Year After is an official entry to the 2008 Metro Manila Film Festival and is showing on December 25, 2008.

Baler is the upcoming official entry of Viva Films in the upcoming 2008 Metro Manila Film Festival. The movie features the first team-up of Jericho Rosales and Anne Curtis.

Synopsis: Baler is a tale of an overwhelming love of a young Filipina named Feliza Reyes (Anne Curtis) and Celso Resurrecion (Jericho Rosales), a Spanish-Filipino soldier, set in the backdrop of 1898 wartime action between a 57-man Rifle Batallion of the Spanish military and the Filipino forces, more popularly known as the Seige of Baler.

Feliza is the beautiful daughter of Nanding (Phillip Salvador), who’s a member of therebel movement. This is the very reason why she and Celso have to keep their love a secret.

Nanding, whose primary goal is to completely wipe out the Spanish soldiers stationed in the town of Baler, can never accept Celso, a half- Indio, half Spanish soldier who chooses to serve the enemies more than the Filipino insurgents who are struggling and fighting for their independence, their freedom.

Feliza is in love with the man her father despises but who and what could stop the two young people who are madly in love with each other?

While we are drawn to the endearing story of a classic love that knows no time, place and race, we are also glided into the historic past to take a peek on what transpired inside the walls of the church of Baler where the last Spanish contingent (who are not aware that the war had actually ended), heroically defended Baler against the Filipino forces for 337 long and grueling days.

While Baler is a story of conflict, betrayal, suffering, self-preservation, selfishness, obstinacy, and self-interest, it is also a story of heroism, courage, love of freedom, patriotism, endurance, chivalry, humanity and above all, it also tells about a noble story of love in time of war--- the story of Feliza and Celso.

The movie also stars Phillip Salvador, Baron Geisler, Bernard Palanca, Carlo Aquino, Niki Bacolod, DJ Durano, Joel Torre, Mark Bautista, Michael de Mesa, and Ryan Eigenmann.

Baler is showing on Christmas day.
